Our Policies We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of Double HH Candles. It means the world to us to be able to continue to provide candles for our troops and their families. It is because of your support that we are able to brighten the days and nights of our soldiers as they serve our country in a foreign land. SHIPPING We ship by the most cost effective means available. We ship via United States Postal Service Priority Mail. Candles are very heavy and expensive to ship. Rest assured we do not make a profit on shipping. If anything, we lose money in this area due to the weight of the packages. The rates below apply to the United States and APO addresses. If you live outside of this area, please contact us to order. Handling charge is for summer months only. This covers the cost of the ice packs that will be included to help to ensure candles arrive in tact.
For an APO address, be sure to choose Standard Flat Rate Shipping to receive the $11.95 shipping rate to APO addresses. BUSINESS OPERATION & PRODUCTION TIMES We operate Monday-Friday most of the year. We do shut down for the summer months due to the heat which makes it impossible to ship the candles. I try to answer my emails as quickly as I can, but my inbox some times gets flooded so please allow me some time to get back to you. My candles are freshly made from your orders. I very rarely have candles that are sitting here and if they do, they never are stored from the time they are made to more than two weeks. I am the only candle maker here, so it can take up 7-10 business days from the date you order until I get them made and shipped out depending on the time of year. This allows me time to make them, and have them cured and ready to ship. During the Holiday seasons, this time can vary due to the higher amounts of orders. Please be patient with me, I assure you they are well worth the wait! WARM WEATHER & SHIPPING If you live in a high heat state or plan to ship to such countries as Iraq, and Afghanistan please check with me before placing an order. Soy candles have a high melting point, but in some states as Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and military APOs can take longer to ship than 5-7 business days. You might find yourself with a melted pool of wax in your package! I would rather have you enjoy your candles and be worth the money at a later date than pay for a melted mess! Summer months in Iraq/Afghanistan are also harder to ship as well, so this year we will only be shipping through Jan-April and then be back up and running during Sept-December. This will allow me some time to start making such large quantities up for our donations to ship overseas. SHIPPING & INSURANCE I try to package the candles with packing peanuts to prevent any damage. Insurance will be an option to choose, but I can not replace any broken items unless insurance is paid. All of our orders are shipped with delivery confirmation. We highly recommend that you purchase insurance to insure your package. We package all items very carefully and according to standards. By purchasing insurance, if there is a broken item in your order, the post office will reimburse for that loss so a replacement item can be sent. To add insurance to you order, please visit our insurance page. Please note that if you do not purchase insurance, we cannot be responsible for broken items. Once it’s turned over to the postal service, it is out of my control. Priority mail is stated to only take 2-3 business days, but the reality of it is, that it can take up to 5-7 business days which is a verified statement from the USPS. I am not responsible for the length of time of mailing through the United States Postal Services once it leaves my hands. By using Priority Mail, this will have delivery confirmation included. Due to the price hike by USPS, the cheapest methods due to weight will be the three flat rate boxes. We charge exactly what USPS charges us. During the fall and Christmas seasons, the times can vary for getting your order out to you due to the extreme amounts of orders placed. Please allow your order to be made, cured and to be shipped during this busy season. We not only have customers to make for, but all the donated ones as well. The USPS mail also slows down during this time of year. If you plan to order for Christmas, please make sure you get your order in early. It is also recommended that any international mail especially those going to Iraq and Afghanistan be placed no later than November 21st. This will insure that your package will be received in time for the holiday season. I do and can ship worldwide! WEDDINGS & MORE We can do candles or soaps for weddings, but please remember I am the only candle maker here and large amounts take a while to complete. These can be done in specified scents and colors to match your wedding. A down payment of half will be required for such an order to ensure that I can order the necessary supplies to complete your favors. In order for me to complete large amounts, please get your order in early so we may add this in to our schedule of regular orders. WHOLESALE REQUESTS As much as I appreciate and flattered that so many have offered to sell my candles in different states, we unfortunately are not able to offer my products at a wholesale price. Due to increasing demand for soy beans in today’s economy, the wax I use and oils steadily go up in pricing. I don’t make much profit after costs from sales and therefore am not able to offer them at wholesale prices. I also have a secret method that makes them smell so good, and would like to keep that in my name. SPECIAL ORDERS Many of my customers request certain scents from time to time. I try to offer what is most demanded by our troops, what is popular on today’s market, and what my customer base line would like. I wish I could buy one of everything, but have to keep it limited to keep my prices low. I can special order scents and the list is endless! I do require a minimum of four candles to be purchased in order to do special scents not listed on my products. This will allow me not to be stuck with something I can not sell and cover the extra costs in shipping and purchases of something special. RETURNS & EXCHANGES Our candles are hand poured at the time that you order. We do not maintain stock in an effort to always provide you with freshly poured candles. Due to this, we cannot accept returns or exchanges unless it is due to our error. Thank you for your understanding. PAYMENT METHODS We accept Visa, Mastercard and Paypal through our online ordering system. Our system automatically encrypts your confidential information using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol with an encryption key length of 128-bits (highest level commercially available). All online orders are processed through Paypal's secure shopping cart system but you do NOT have to have a Paypal account to order through this site. When prompted for your Paypal login, simply click the button that you do not have a Paypal account and you can complete your order. If you would like to pay by check or money order, please contact us and we will provide ordering instructions. Please be advised that your order will be held until your payment method has cleared the financial institution.
